1. What data Rex Journal collects
Rex Journal only stores data that the user manually enters or imports from their contacts: names, phone numbers, emails, notes, interests, milestones, photos and voice note recordings, as well as the user's personal profile.
The app does not collect usage data, behavioral metrics, or device information, except for the technical error reports described in section 4.
2. Where data is stored
All data is stored exclusively on the user's device, in a local database (SQLite). Rex Journal has no servers of its own and does not send information over the internet.
Backups that the user chooses to export remain under their exclusive control and are stored wherever the user chooses.
3. Sharing with third parties
Rex Journal does not share, sell, or transfer data to third parties under any circumstances. Data is not used for advertising or profiling purposes.
4. External services used
- Sentry: receives only technical error reports (without personal contact data) to fix app bugs.
- RevenueCat: processes in-app purchases through Google Play. It does not access contacts or notes.
Both services are subject to their own privacy policies and operate with strictly technical or transactional data.
5. Permissions the app requests
- Contacts: to import contacts from the device's address book (optional, only if the user enables it).
- Microphone: to record voice notes associated with a contact (optional).
- Notifications: to alert the user when it might be a good time to reconnect with someone.
- Storage: to generate and share backups that the user chooses to export.
6. User rights
The user can delete any contact, note, or recording at any time from within the app. When the application is uninstalled, all local data is permanently deleted from the device.
There is no user profile on external servers to delete, because Rex Journal does not create one.
7. Minors
Rex Journal is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. Changes to this policy
Any relevant updates to this policy will be communicated within the app. Continued use of Rex Journal after an update is published implies acceptance of the new terms.
